content management system

In order to simplify the administration of content, users often resort to content management systems.

Publishers or editorial offices occasionally use systems that are not provided over the Internet, but are operated over their own internal network. However, the term CMS usually refers to Internet-based software with database connection for operating a website. The systems enable the creation, editing and publishing of content such as texts, images, videos, forms up to entire websites.

There are different common abbreviations for the topic content management:

  • CMS - Content Management System
  • WCMS - Web Content Management System
  • WCM - Web Content Management
  • DXP - Digital eXperience Platform - Today many content management systems are called DXP.

We work very successfully with the FirstSpirit CMS and the Pimcore CMS.
